This was an unprecedented move that no one saw coming as Young was thought to be the long-term answer to their quarterback woes, but now appears set to ride the bench for the foreseeable future. The swift decision to bench Young almost assures that his time in Carolina is done, though head coach Dave Canales has emphatically denied that notion. Still, this is quite the indictment on Young who has not looked any better in his sophomore season. Those expectations brought a lot of pressure but that stress and tension will be gone with the Dallas Mavericks. The Ravens came within one touchdown of either forcing overtime or winning the game outright, but Isaiah Likely was ruled just out when he came down with the pass from Lamar Jackson.
