MLB Players Are Using Must-See Bats In 2024

Image
(Photo by Ronald Martinez/Getty Images)   MLB fans and collectors are in for a treat. Few things are more valuable to them than items that were used in actual MLB games: balls, gloves, bats, mitts, etc. Baseball card and collectibles company Topps, together with the league and its teams, is taking things to the next level. “A number of players across the MLB are using bats that have photos of their Topps Flagship cards on the bat knob. After these bats are used in games, the knobs will be cut off from the bats, and put into 1/1 autograph cards,” the company tweeted, prompting many replies from fans showing their excitement. Brad Stevens Takes Home Elite NBA Award

Image
(Photo by Maddie Malhotra/Getty Images)   The Boston Celtics cruised to a 64-18 record this season and are positioned to steamroll the Eastern Conference en route to the NBA Finals, currently sitting with a 3-1 lead over the Miami Heat in the first round. Much of that is due to the incredible work of team president and former head coach Brad Stevens, who just won a huge award for his accomplishments. The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported that Stevens has won the NBA’s Executive of the Year award, with Sam Presti of the Oklahoma City Thunder coming in a distant second place, and Tim Connelly of the Minnesota Timberwolves coming in third. Jerod Mayo Was Asked About A Potential Reunion With Tom Brady

Image
(Photo by Maddie Meyer/Getty Images)   Tom Brady accomplished everything that an NFL player can accomplish. By all accounts, he is arguably the greatest signal-caller in NFL history. However, that doesn’t mean he is done playing despite being retired for over a season now. New Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo was asked on “The Greg Hill Show” about a potential Patriots return for the seven-time Super Bowl winner. “I love Tom and the door is always open if he wants to come in here and coach. But as far as going on the field, I don’t know…I doubt he’s going to be walking through these doors anytime soon,” Mayo said Monday. Patriots Head Coach Jerod Mayo joins the show for "Mayo Mondays"! Clippers Have Made A Decision About Kawhi Leonard’s Status For Game 4

Image
(Photo by Harry How/Getty Images)   The Los Angeles Clippers find themselves in a concerning spot during the first round of the 2024 NBA playoffs as they head into Game 4 down 2-1 to the Dallas Mavericks. After winning Game 1, the Clippers have dropped the past two games including a Game 3 that got testy between the two squads. Los Angeles had no answers for the dynamic duo of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving and seemed to rely too heavily on James Harden. However, the most concerning thing for the Clippers is Kawhi Leonard’s health as he clearly hasn’t looked right since he came back from his knee injury. Leonard was forced to miss the final stretch of the 2023-24 NBA regular season with knee inflammation and it appears that it hasn’t responded the way both sides had hoped. Despite the pivotal Game 4, Los Angeles decided to rule out Leonard, via Shams Charania of The Athletic. “Clippers have ruled out Kawhi Leonard (knee inflammation) for Game 4 vs. Mavericks,” Charania repo...

Charles Barkley Says NBA Player Is Putting Everyone On Notice

Image
(Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)   Every now and then, NBA fans witness an all-time great passing the torch to his successor. However, on some rare occasions, we’ve also seen an up-and-coming star take the league by storm and make sure to get what he claims to deserve. We saw that with Kobe Bryant, and we’re seeing that again with Anthony Edwards. The Minnesota Timberwolves star doesn’t want to wait for his turn to be the face of the league; he’s ready to take the torch right off anybody’s hands. That’s why Hall of Famer Charles Barkley claims to be proud and excited about him. Talking on NBA on TNT after the Timberwolves’ Game 3 win over the Phoenix Suns, he claimed that he absolutely loved the fact that Edwards wasn’t waiting on anybody to pass him the torch; he was going to take it anyway. "Anthony Edwards is letting everybody on notice. 'Yeah, I'm not gonna wait for y'all to give me anything, I'm gonna take it all,' and I love it." Chuc...

Bo Nix Has A Message For Broncos Fans

Image
(Photo by Tom Hauck/Getty Images)   In one of the six quarterback draft selections made in round one of the NFL Draft on Thursday night, the Denver Broncos selected Oregon’s Bo Nix with the No. 12 overall pick. Even after trading for former New York Jets first-round quarterback Zach Wilson, Sean Payton felt like the Broncos needed one more competitor. They felt like the All-Pac-12 performer was worth the pick. Nix had a very exciting message for Broncos fans after he was chosen. “I am so excited to be a Bronco. This is such a dream come true. From Day 1, Denver was my No. 1,” the 24-year-old stated Thursday night. Bo Nix’s message to Broncos Country: “I am so excited to be a Bronco. This is such a dream come true. Keyshawn Johnson Calls Out Paul Pierce After Celtics’ Game 2 Loss

Image
(Photo by Adam Glanzman/Getty Images)   On Thursday morning, Keyshawn Johnson had some words for Paul Pierce. For weeks now, Pierce has appeared on “Undisputed” along with Johnson and Skip Bayless and has repeatedly spoken about the power of the Boston Celtics. On Wednesday night, the Celtics were surprisingly taken down by the Miami Heat and Pierce was nowhere to be found on Thursday morning. “How do you like them apples?” Johnson asked the absent Pierce, happy with Boston’s defeat and the impact it might have on their future in the playoffs. . @keyshawn 's got a message for @PaulPierce34 who playing hooky after Celtics loss: "How do you like them apples?!" pic.twitter.com/h7Y4NcKFIM — UNDISPUTED (@undisputed) April 25, 2024 Like many other people, Pierce felt that the Celtics’ rise to the top and the NBA Finals were inevitable. Tyreek Hill Reacts To Amon-Ra St. Brown’s New Contract

Image
(Photo by Tim Nwachukwu/Getty Images)   Breaking news at the wide receiver position came just a day out from the NFL Draft kicks off in Detroit, Michigan. Speaking of Detroit, Lions No. 1 wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown inked a brand-new four-year deal worth $120 million to stay in Detroit for years to come. After the news broke, Miami Dolphins All-Pro receiver Tyreek Hill took to social media to react to the deal. “WR market on fire ,” Hill tweeted Wednesday morning. WR market on fire — Ty Hill (@cheetah) April 24, 2024 St. Brown joins the list of Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill, A.J. Brown, and Amari Cooper as receivers currently on $100 million deals. Also, St. Brown and Hill are the highest-paid receivers in the league in terms of annual value (both earning $30 million per year). Still just 24 years of age, St. Brown is one of the most complete pass-catchers in the league. The two-time Pro-Bowler has caught 315 passes, recorded over 3,500 receiving yards, and grabbe...

Rudy Gobert Reveals Why He Thinks Players Criticize Him

Image
(Photo by Chris Coduto/Getty Images)   Rudy Gobert isn’t the most popular player in the NBA, not by any means. The fans, the players, and even some of his former teammates don’t seem to like him that much, both as a player and as a person. His reputation precedes him all the way back to his days with the Utah Jazz. He’s been laughed at, mocked, called soft, and overrated. Nonetheless, the Minnesota Timberwolves big man is unfazed by the haters. Recently, he stated via an ESPN.com piece that he impacts the game in a “very unique way,” adding that his greatness triggers other players because he’s just “an odd guy from France” finding success in the league (via NBACentral). Rudy Gobert thinks his greatness ‘triggers’ people "In their eyes, I'm more like the odd guy from France that's winning a lot of awards, and it can bother people. Bo Nix Makes His Thoughts Clear About Potentially Joining Broncos

Image
(Photo by Ian Maule/Getty Images)   The Denver Broncos desperately need a quarterback. Fortunately for them, there happens to be multiple options in the upcoming edition of the NFL Draft. Earlier reports showed that they were quite high on J.J. McCarthy, but with the Michigan product rising on most draft boards, their chances of getting him at No. 12 are quite slim. Also, they have plenty of areas of need, so they might not be willing to trade multiple picks to move up. With that in mind, Oregon star Bo Nix is now firmly expected to be their guy. In his recent appearance on “Up & Adams,” Kay Adams told him that she hoped Sean Payton took him, and he claimed he would be honored. Dan Patrick Has Honest Admission About The Future Of His Show

Image
(Photo by Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images)   For decades, NFL fans have been fortunate enough to have numerous talented and well-versed sports talk show hosts and analysts around to cover the game both on and off the field. With the rise of social media and websites like YouTube, it’s made finding and creating football content simpler and more accessible for people who love the sport. However, one of the best shows still in the business is “The Dan Patrick Show” hosted by former ESPN personality Dan Patrick. Patrick and his crew have been on several mediums like television, radio and the Internet and currently still produce episodes on it’s YouTube channel. The end of an era is coming, though, as Patrick announced last year that he intends to host the program until he retires in 2027. As for the future of his show once he leaves, Patrick revealed that there have been several inquiries from fellow sports personalities about taking his place via The Dan Patrick Show. “Dan reveals...

Video Shows Jim Harbaugh Getting Championship Tattoo

Image
(Photo by Ronald Martinez/Getty Images)   The Los Angeles Chargers had to hit reset on their franchise once they flamed out during the 2023 NFL season. The Chargers were expected to compete for a Super Bowl, but instead they struggled on both sides of the field and walked into the offseason with plenty of questions to answer. Team owner Dean Spanos cleaned house, firing former general manager and head coach Tom Telesco and Brandon Staley. Spanos then made a splash in the offseason when he managed to lure away former Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh to lead the Chargers’ sideline. Harbaugh was a highly-coveted name during the head coaching hiring cycle after he led the Wolverines to the 2023 CFP Championship. Before winning the national title, Harbaugh vowed he would get a tattoo if his program won it all and he finally delivered on his promise via Action Network. “Jim Harbaugh followed through on his promise to get a tattoo if Michigan won the national championship.” Ji...

The Rockies Are Dealing With A Shocking Scandal

Image
(Photo by Michael Reaves/Getty Images)   The Colorado Rockies have been the worst team in the National League (together with the Miami Marlins) with a 4-15 record. This was to be expected, of course: they are one of the most dysfunctional franchises in the league, their pitching is atrocious, and their offense is not good. What we did not expect was for them to make the news for breaching a common rule during a flight. “The Colorado Rockies are under investigation by the FAA and United Airlines after a video showed hitting coach Hensley Meulens in the cockpit of the team’s charter mid-flight,” Front Office Sports tweeted. Texans Are Reportedly Making Improvements To Stadium

Image
(Photo by Logan Riely/Getty Images)   The Houston Texans aren’t messing around. They were one of the biggest winners of the NFL offseason, surrounding C.J. Stroud with more talent to make sure his job gets easier as he enters the second season of his promising career. However, they also know that it takes more than just stacking up talent to find success. That’s why they’re digging deep into other issues and why they’ve listened to the players and want to do right by them and their needs. According to GM Nick Caserio, the team is improving their facilities at NRG Stadium, including the weight room. Per Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2, Caserio praised the McNair family for this investment. #Texans are making some capital improvements at NRG Stadium, including updating the weight room. Colin Cowherd Believes 1 NBA Dynasty Is ‘Over’

Image
(Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)   The Golden State Warriors went down badly. Steve Kerr’s team failed to keep it close in the second half, and the Sacramento Kings may have put the last nail in the dynasty’s coffin. At least, that’s how sports analyst Colin Cowherd seems to feel. Following the Dubs’ loss, the renowned pundit took to Twitter to state that this is just the way dynasties are supposed to end, predicting the Warriors will make some big moves in the offseason (via The Volume). . @ColinCowherd reacts to the end of the Warriors dynasty pic.twitter.com/25utP5bFVq — The Volume (@TheVolumeSports) April 17, 2024 Cowherd claimed that the Warriors should only keep Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Brandon Podziemski. Per Cowherd, Jonathan Kuminga and Trayce Jackson-Davis are two and three years away from Steph Curry’s ...

Jalen Hurts Reveals The Lessons He Learned From Last Season

Image
(Photo by Steph Chambers/Getty Images)   To say that the Philadelphia Eagles had a complicated season in 2023 would be a massive understatement. Even when they had the best record in the league at 10-1, some thought they weren’t as good as they were in their Super Bowl campaign. They kept finding ways to come back and win games in the second half, but they just weren’t as dominant, especially on defense. They crumbled under pressure in the second half of the campaign, and there were several concerning rumors about Nick Sirianni’s leadership, temper, and the way the locker room was at the time. That’s why, when asked about the biggest lesson he learned from last season, QB Jalen Hurts put a big emphasis on staying together and developing a strong culture (via Eliot Shorr-Parks). Jared Goff Has Blunt Response When Asked About Contract Extension Talks

Image
(Photo by Patrick Smith/Getty Images)   Not so long ago, Jared Goff’s NFL career seemed to be hanging by a thread. The former No. 1 pick struggled to find consistency with the Los Angeles Rams, and plenty of people blamed him for their inability to get over the hump and win a Super Bowl. That only got worse when the Rams won the Super Bowl in Matthew Stafford’s first season with the organization, making it seem as if it had always been his fault. Goff, however, has been very good since being traded to the Detroit Lions. That’s why it’s not much of a surprise to see that they want to keep him around for the long run. With that in mind, the former Rams player confirmed that there have been some talks regarding a contract extension, although he didn’t want to get into details (via Kyle Meinke). Fans React To Jets’ New Uniform Announcement

(Photo by Tim Warner/Getty Images)   The New York Jets are already getting prepared for the upcoming campaign. Having Aaron Rodgers back to full strength is the best news of the offseason. And getting another potential building block with the No. 10 pick on top of the reinforcements they added in the past couple of weeks must have the fans hyped. Jalen Brunson Makes Honest Admission About Leading The Knicks

Image
(Photo by Michael Reaves/Getty Images)   The New York Knicks were starved for a superstar to lead the team since Carmelo Anthony moved on nearly a decade ago. New York spent years toiling in mediocrity before the new regime led by Leon Rose methodically rebuilt the roster. The biggest signing the Knicks made was Jalen Brunson, whom they openly coveted while he was still playing with the Dallas Mavericks. Brunson signed a four-year deal to play for New York and he’s blossomed into one of the best players in the NBA. The point guard has led the Knicks to one of the best records during the 2023-24 NBA season and has them in position to make a legitimate title run. Brunson was previously considered a high-quality starter, but he’s taken his game to an entirely different level and belongs in the conversation for MVP. Before New York’s regular-season finale against the Chicago Bulls, Brunson opened up about what it’s meant to lead a team, via ESPN. “I’ve always dreamt of being...

Rome Odunze Reveals Which NFL Player He Grew Up Watching

Image
(Photo by Cindy Ord/Getty Images for SiriusXM)   With the 2024 NFL Draft quickly approaching, the excitement is starting to reach a fever pitch as numerous players can come in and help a team from Day 1. One of the most highly-touted players in this year’s draft class is Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze who is almost a near-lock to go in the top-10. Odunze had a successful college career with the Huskies and starred for them in 2023 as they made it all the way to the championship game. In most years, Odunze would be the first receiver off the board though players like Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers are expected to go before him. Still, any team that’s lucky enough to have Odunze fall to them will be in for a treat as he has the potential to be a true No. 1 receiver that head coaches can build their offenses around. Growing up, Odunze didn’t watch a lot of NFL football but revealed that former Chicago Bears wide receiver and return specialist Devin Hester was his ...

Analyst Wants Mets Fans To Give Star A Special Gesture

Image
(Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)   The New York Mets will return home on Friday to start a three-game series against the red-hot Kansas City Royals. Against all odds, the Royals are second in the AL Central with a 9-4 record, led by the phenomenal Bobby Witt Jr. The Mets, however, are also playing some high-level baseball. After a sluggish start, they have won five of their last seven, including two out of three against the powerful Atlanta Braves. The Mets apparently found their stride and are finally playing competitive baseball after looking lost in their first two series. One of the reasons behind the Mets’ awful start was Francisco Lindor not producing as expected. The All-Star shortstop, who became a 30-30 player last year, is slashing a meager .098/.203/.176 with a .380 OPS. He has only two extra-base hits, a double, and a home run, and they were both achieved in the same game. A Mets insider is proposing an interesting approach to try and get Lindor going. ...

Diamondbacks Are Dealing With A Shocking Problem This Season

Image
(Photo by Matthew Stockman/Getty Images)   Statistical oddities are one of the best parts of baseball and, specifically, MLB. It’s always fun to learn weird trends and rare occurrences in major league games. Take, for example, the Arizona Diamondbacks. The D-Backs are a very solid team, fresh off making the World Series last year. This time, they are off to a 6-7 start so far, but they have remained very competitive in the middle of some injuries and slow starts. The first inning in particular has been very productive for their offense. It seems, however, that they have forgotten how to score runs after that, particularly from the fifth inning on. “The Arizona Diamondbacks have scored 24 runs in the first inning and 22 runs from the fifth inning on,” Codify Baseball tweeted. Craig Kimbrel Continues To Rise Up Elite Closer List

Image
(Photo by Mitchell Layton/Getty Images)   Craig Kimbrel is one of the most decorated and accomplished closers in the history of baseball. Sometimes, people don’t really understand the value of achievements until the player in question retires and there is no one like him. This might be the case, to some extent, with the new Baltimore Orioles closer. Kimbrel has won a World Series, a Rookie of the Year award, and is a nine-time All-Star. He is also a two-time Reliever of the Year and led the league in saves four times. For his career, he has a whopping 419 saves. He also entered an exclusive club a few days ago, after he locked down his first save with the O’s. “Craig Kimbrel has now recorded a regular season save for 8 Major League clubs,” MLB Stats tweeted. (Photo by Christian Petersen/Getty Images)   When the Los Angeles Dodgers were playing the Seoul Series, it was revealed that Shohei Ohtani’s longtime interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara, was being investigated for reportedly stealing money from the player to cover gambling debts. For days, even weeks, the baseball universe speculated that Mizuhara was possibly covering for Ohtani, but authorities have determined that the global star wasn’t aware of what was happening in his bank account. ESPN reporters Alden Gonzalez and Jeff Passan revealed some new developments in the case. Gonzalez said that Mizuhara “has been charged with bank fraud.” “Ippei Mizuhara has been charged with stealing more than $16 million from Shohei Ohtani, according to federal investigators,” Passan tweeted. They will now be undergoing a lot of roster turnover, as according to recent reports, Bronny James isn’t the only freshman guard who is on his way out of Pasadena. NBA Player Compares Timberwolves Star To Michael Jordan
