Jalen Hurts Reveals The Lessons He Learned From Last Season

To say that the Philadelphia Eagles had a complicated season in 2023 would be a massive understatement.

Even when they had the best record in the league at 10-1, some thought they weren’t as good as they were in their Super Bowl campaign.

They kept finding ways to come back and win games in the second half, but they just weren’t as dominant, especially on defense.

They crumbled under pressure in the second half of the campaign, and there were several concerning rumors about Nick Sirianni’s leadership, temper, and the way the locker room was at the time.

That’s why, when asked about the biggest lesson he learned from last season, QB Jalen Hurts put a big emphasis on staying together and developing a strong culture (via Eliot Shorr-Parks).

Notably, that could be a bit of an issue for this team for the foreseeable future.

Fletcher Cox and Jason Kelce, two of their veteran leaders, retired from the game after the season.

His teammates have constantly praised Hurts for his maturity and leadership, and he’s going to have to embrace that role even more going forward.

The Eagles made sure to right their wrongs by hiring two of the best assistant coaches in the game in Kellen Moore and Vic Fangio, to serve as their new offensive and defensive coordinators, respectively.

They also continue to have one of the most talented rosters in the game.

Then again, none of that will mean a thing unless the players buy in and rally together.
