Image
(Photo by Christian Petersen/Getty Images)   The Kansas City Chiefs currently have the best defensive coordinator in the league. Steve Spagnuolo has helped them win three Super Bowls, and they have one of the strongest defensive units we’ve seen in quite a while. Spagnuolo also won a Super Bowl with the New York Giants and is an established figure in the league. That’s why it’s unsurprising to see him drawing interest for a head coaching position. According to a report by Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Jacksonville Jaguars have requested permission to interview him. Jaguars requested an interview with Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo for their Head Coach vacancy. Spagnuolo already had requests from the Jets and Raiders. — Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) January 9, 2025 Schefter adds that the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets have also expressed an interest in him. Spagnuolo was the head coach of the St. Louis (now Los Angeles) Rams from 2009 to 2011, but he didn’t have much succ...

John Lynch Sends A Clear Message About Brock Purdy’s Future With 49ers

Image
(Photo by Lachlan Cunningham/Getty Images)   The San Francisco 49ers are navigating a challenging offseason after a disappointing 6-11 campaign, a stark contrast to their NFC Championship run last year. Among their pressing decisions, Brock Purdy’s contract situation stands at the forefront. Their quarterback, who has delivered consistent play on a rookie contract for three years, is now extension-eligible heading into his final year. While a payday seems long overdue, the 49ers’ struggles in 2024 raise questions about whether they’ll commit top-dollar to their signal-caller. General Manager John Lynch, however, isn’t beating around the bush about Purdy’s future with the franchise. Speaking at a Wednesday press conference alongside head coach Kyle Shanahan, Lynch openly embraced the idea of securing Purdy long-term this offseason. “What we know about Brock is that he’s our guy,” Lynch stated firmly. “We have interest in Brock being around here for a long, long time. He’s...

Nick Wright Names The Biggest Threat To The Chiefs In Playoffs

Image
(Photo by Rob Kim/Getty Images)   The Kansas City Chiefs earned themselves a first-round bye in the playoffs after going a whopping 15-2 in the regular season. However, one of those two losses came at the hands of the Buffalo Bills earlier in the season. Fox Sports’ Nick Wright believes the Bills are the biggest threat to the Chiefs’ championship chances this postseason. “It’s the Bills. It’s been the Bills all year,” Wright said via “What’s Wright? with Nick Wright.” The Bills are still the biggest threat to the Chiefs. @getnickwright explains: pic.twitter.com/gGPc5suHwY — What’s Wright? with Nick Wright (@WhatsWrightShow) January 8, 2025 When the two teams met in mid-November, the Bills won 30-21 at home to give the Chiefs their first loss. It felt like the Chiefs’ only true loss of the season, seeing as their only other loss came at the hands of the Denver Broncos in Week 18 when they decided to sit most of their starters. In the game against the Chiefs, the Bil...

(Photo by Tyler Kaufman/Getty Images)   The Golden State Warriors are desperate to climb higher in the standings and stop giving up winnable games. In order for that to happen, they may need to make some trades before the upcoming NBA deadline. According to Jake Weinbach, via Courtside Buzz, the Warriors are interested in Nikola Vucevic of the Chicago Bulls. Former QB Sends A Warning Message About Bengals

Image
(Photo by Jason Mowry/Getty Images)   Once again, the Cincinnati Bengals got off to a slow start to the season. Now, they don’t control their own destiny to make the playoffs. That doesn’t mean that they’re a bad team. If anything, they’re peaking at the right time. That’s why Alex Smith believes no one in the AFC wants to see them in the playoffs. On ESPN, the former Kansas City Chiefs quarterback claimed that the Bengals’ offense has been elite all season. "Nobody in the AFC wants the Bengals in." If the Bengals make the playoffs, Alex Smith believes they can leave Buffalo with a W pic.twitter.com/hBdVgrwAoX — NFL on ESPN (@ESPNNFL) January 5, 2025 It’s hard to argue with that statement, as Joe Burrow has had one of the single greatest seasons in NFL history. He’s leading the league in multiple categories and picked apart every single defense he’s come across this season. The Bengals have struggled to get stops all year long, even losing multiple games in ...

Joe Burrow Reveals His Choice For Defensive Player Of The Year

Image
(Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images)   The Cincinnati Bengals don’t control their own destiny. Their slow start to the season has them rooting for other teams to have a chance to make the playoffs, even after doing their part and beating the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday night. The team’s defense has been nothing short of abysmal for most of the season, even losing multiple games in which they scored more than 30 points. Nevertheless, as bad as they’ve been, one of their players has stood out from the rest of the pack. Trey Hendrickson is currently leading the league in sacks (17.5), and he’s been an unstoppable force off of the line of scrimmage. With that in mind, Bengals QB Joe Burrow gave him the nod as this year’s Defensive Player of the Year (via Ari Meirov). “After tonight, I don’t know who else is gonna win Defensive Player of the Year other than him. He’s incredible,” he said. Joe Burrow on Trey Hendrickson: "After tonight, I don't know who else is gonna...
