(Photo by Billie Weiss/Getty Images)   It has been a confusing NFL season thus far, with a number of preseason Super Bowl contenders getting off to rocky starts, while a few under-the-radar teams have emerged as legitimate threats. It’s not easy to make sense of the first six weeks, but FOX Sports analyst Tom Brady recently shared his take on the overall state of the league via his power rankings. Brady has his former team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, at No. 1, followed by the surprising Indianapolis Colts at No. 2, the Green Bay Packers at No. 3, the Detroit Lions at No. 4, and the Los Angeles Rams at No. 5. Stats Show How Elite Sam Darnold Has Been Among NFL QBs

Image
(Photo by Mike Carlson/Getty Images)   For years, NFL fans and analysts talked about Sam Darnold as a bust. The quarterback didn’t look good in his first couple of years in the league, struggling to establish himself with the New York Jets. Now, after bouncing around the league, he’s finally living up to expectations. Coming off a very successful campaign with the Minnesota Vikings in 2024, Darnold has been one of the best quarterbacks in the league this season with the Seattle Seahawks . “Sam Darnold currently has the highest big-time throw rate (7.7%) and lowest turnover-worthy (1.1%) play rate of all starting QBs per PFF,” Mike Renner wrote on X. Chiefs Hint At ‘Heavy Workload’ For Returning Star WR

Image
(Photo by David Eulitt/Getty Images)   The Kansas City Chiefs will finally get their best weapon back on the field. Wide receiver Rashee Rice will make his season debut in Week 7 after serving a six-week suspension for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. While head coach Andy Reid has hinted at taking things slowly with Rice as he works his way back, it now seems they’re ready to unleash him right away. “The Chiefs won’t be easing Rashee Rice back into action. They will be allocating a heavy workload for him as soon as possible. Rice, who returns from suspension this week, has been in the building for weeks, had an excellent training camp and is in peak physical shape. A team source says Rice will be ‘full bore’ this week as he gets back onto the practice field,” Jeremy Fowler wrote . Rice missed most of last season with a knee injury after breaking out in the second half of his rookie campaign. Despite struggling on offense early in this season, the Chiefs re...

Patriots Named Among Teams Looking To Address Key Position

Image
(Photo by Kenneth Richmond/Getty Images)   The New England Patriots lost one of their key offensive players. Running back Antonio Gibson is out for the season because of an injury, and given Rhamondre Stevenson’s never-ending issues with ball security, they might want to get a replacement. That’s why it’s not a surprise to see they might be interested in trading for one. “NFL executives named the Patriots ‘among teams that could look to add a back,’ such as [New York] Jets RB Breece Hall, ahead of the trade deadline, per Jeremy Fowler,” Carlos A. Lopez wrote on X. NFL executives named the #Patriots “among teams that could look to add a back,” such as Jets RB Breece Hall, ahead of the trade deadline, per @JFowlerESPN . Analyst Uses 2-Words To Describe How Lakers Could Implode

Image
(Photo by Joshua Gateley/Getty Images)   The Los Angeles Lakers are hoping to become one of the best teams in the West in the new season, but everyone knows they’ll face their challenges. Writing for Bleacher Report, Zach Buckley discussed what could be the largest problem in LA’s way. “Disastrous Defense,” Buckley  wrote . “Paint a mental picture of the ideal components for a dominant defense in the modern NBA. Did your collection of players look anything like the one pictured above? Of course not. Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves have never been mistaken for super-stingy stoppers. And with LeBron James’ 41st birthday fast approaching, he might have to go into energy-conservation mode on the defensive end more often than not. Maybe if the Lakers were loaded with lockdown defenders around them, they could be solid stoppers. Maybe.” This isn’t a surprise to anyone who has been paying attention to the Lakers over the last few years, because defense has long been the bigge...

Doc Rivers Raves About New Bucks Big Man

Image
(Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images)   Doc Rivers knows that his Milwaukee Bucks have to exceed expectations in the new season, and that means they need all the help they can get. Rivers is very happy with what he’s seen from the latest Buck, Myles Turner. Speaking to the press, he praised Turner and commented on what a great fit he is alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo. “He’s great for this team. I couldn’t have thought of a better person that fits Giannis. He’s just really good for us,” Rivers said of Turner. "I couldn't have thought of a better person that fits Giannis." Turner certainly does bring a lot to the team, and he’s been a huge part of the Indiana Pacers for years. Last season, Turner put up 15.6 points and 6.5 rebounds on the way to his team’...

Robert Griffin III Names His NFL MVP Front-Runner

Image
(Photo by Arturo Holmes/Getty Images)   Another week, another epic Tampa Bay Buccaneers game. Todd Bowles’ team has been must-watch television through the first six games of the season, and that’s all because of one man: Baker Mayfield . With that in mind, former NFL star QB Robert Griffin III took to X to give him his flowers, anointing him as his leading MVP candidate. “Baker Mayfield is the MVP front runner in the NFL,” Griffin posted on X. Baker Mayfield is the MVP front runner in the NFL. — Robert Griffin III (@RGIII) October 12, 2025 Truth be told, it’s hard to disagree with the former Washington Commanders star. Through the first six weeks of the season, Mayfield has led the Buccaneers to four game-winning drives. He’s put up big numbers without Chris Godwin Jr., Bucky Irving, and Mike Evans. He lost star rookie WR Emeka Egbuka early on in the game vs. the San Francisco 49ers, yet he still found a way to get the job done. The former No. 1 pick has comple...
