Zion Williamson Is Expanding His Game Right Before The Playoffs

Image
(Photo by Chris Coduto/Getty Images)   The New Orleans Pelicans scored an important win on Sunday night, beating the Phoenix Suns, 113-105. Unsurprisingly, Zion Williamson had yet another big game, scoring 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists. Andrew Lopez pointed out a very impressive fact on Monday morning, revealing that Sunday was the first time that Williamson made multiple two-point jump shots outside of 10 feet in the same game. Lopez said that Williamson works on the shot all the time in practice. “Using it more in games will help when teams pack the paint against Pels’ O,” Lopez tweeted. Crazy but true: Last night was Zion’s first time making multiple 2-point jumpers outside 10 feet in the same game, per Second Spectrum tracking data. It’s a shot he works on in practice all the time. Analyst Says QB Prospect Is A ‘Tricky Evaluation’

Image
(Photo by David Becker/Getty Images)   The 2024 NFL Draft is a few weeks away and teams are starting to make moves to prime themselves to pick the players they want. Teams like the Minnesota Vikings have maneuvered to add more draft compensation, while free agency also helped solve pieces of the puzzle for other organizations. The most interesting position group to look at ahead of the draft is the crop of quarterbacks as there are a few that could immediately make an impact as a starter. However, one name that evaluators have begun to warm up to is Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy, who some believe should go higher than originally projected. McCarthy led the Wolverines to the 2023 CFP Championship, though he wasn’t asked to throw the football much because of the team’s strong run game and defense. Evaluators like Ryan McCrystal admitted that it’s been difficult to properly assess him because he wasn’t asked to carry the Michigan offense, via Sharp Football Analysis. “He is a tri...

Kyrie Irving Makes His Thoughts Clear About Steph Curry

(Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)   On Friday night, the Dallas Mavericks pushed past the Golden State Warriors and had a 108-106 victory over Stephen Curry and his team. Speaking to the press after the game, via ClutchPoints, Kyrie Irving of the Mavericks talked about Curry and the respect he has for him. “I just show respect to the guys like that, he has put in a ton of work for our league he has set the bar for a lot of us point guards of where we want to be, we are still chasing his legacy,” Irving said. A’s Announce Special Plans Before Leaving Oakland

Image
(Photo by Ezra Shaw/Getty Images)   The Oakland Athletics will be playing their last season in the city this year. Starting from 2025, they will be playing three seasons in Sacramento (possibly four), before relocating to Las Vegas for good. A’s fans are obviously heartbroken about losing the team they have rooted for during their entire lives. They look like a Triple-A team now, but the A’s won have four World Series and six pennants since they landed in Oakland in 1968. The 1970s A’s were something to behold, as was the late-1980s version. Right now, however, the franchise is managed by people who prioritize the money over fan sentiment. At least the current ownership will have a kind gesture toward fans in the final season of the franchise in Oakland. “A’s announce they will celebrate fans, employees, and players past and present throughout the 2024 season as the team bids farewell to the Oakland Coliseum,” baseball reporter Jessica Kleinschmidt tweeted. A's announc...

Adrian Peterson Reveals Surprising Update On NFL Career

Image
(Photo by Steph Chambers/Getty Images)   Legendary running back Adrian Peterson hasn’t played a snap in the NFL since the 2021 season, and despite this, he apparently still hasn’t given up on playing in the league again. Peterson hasn’t officially retired from the NFL, but at the age of 39, it’s hard to envision any team in the league having any interest in signing him to a contract. Even though this might seem obvious to some, the future Hall-of-Fame running back recently shared on the “Courtside Club with Rachel DeMita” podcast that he’s still not ready to call it quits on his NFL career just yet (via Dov Kleiman on Twitter). Adrian Peterson is not finished with his career just yet. “In my heart, I’m not finished yet. I still have passion and love for the game. The one thing I have told myself is if nothing happened this year, I will hang them up and move on. So we will see.” (Courtside Club… https://t.co/2O4kmUBRAe pic.twitter.com/bbxgSBojYO — Dov Kleiman (@NFL_DovKl...

Gilbert Arenas Makes Harsh Statement About Nikola Jokic

Image
(Photo by Tim Heitman/Getty Images)   Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets has a very good chance of winning this season’s MVP. In fact, most analysts agree that the prize is his to lose, meaning he will be a three-time Most Valuable Player. But some people aren’t happy with that possibility, including former player Gilbert Arenas. Speaking with Shannon Sharpe on Night Cap, Arenas had a bold claim about Jokic. “He is the worst MVP winner in the last 40 years,” Arenas said. “He is the worst MVP winner in the last 40 years.” – Gilbert Arenas on Nikola Jokic pic.twitter.com/5ltZhN14rn — NBACentral (@TheDunkCentral) April 4, 2024 It’s not very clear why he feels that way but others also don’t like the idea of Jokic claiming his third MVP prize in four years. Part of the issue is the fact that numerous followers of the league believe that Joel Embiid should be getting the award. He is the reigning MVP, of course, and was playing some of the best basketball of his career...

Analyst Makes Bold Statement About The Houston Texans

Image
(Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images)   The Houston Texans dropped major news out of nowhere today, trading for superstar wide receiver Stefon Diggs of the Buffalo Bills and surrendering just a 2025 2nd-round pick in the process. We haven’t had much time to let this trade digest yet, but one analyst is already firing off bold statements to set the early market for Diggs hot takes. Bryant McFadden of CBS Sports said: “They are the next best team in my opinion outside of the Kansas City Chiefs.” "They are the second best team in the AFC, in my opinion, right behind the Kansas City Chiefs." @BMac_SportsTalk on the Houston Texans. pic.twitter.com/ZCpG7YtReX — NFL on CBS (@NFLonCBS) April 3, 2024 It’s a bold claim to make, but perhaps not too bold since the Texans did make a run to the Divisional Round of the playoffs last year and have had a strong offseason. Diggs will step in as the immediate WR1 for C.J. Stroud and bump Tank Dell and Nico Collins down to WR2 and W...
