Insider Reveals A Timeline On Dylan Cease Talks

Image
(Photo by Jamie Sabau/Getty Images)   The Chicago White Sox are probably not going to contend in 2024. They lost 101 games in 2023 and have a long way to go to rebuild their roster. By the time they are ready to compete again, their ace Dylan Cease will probably be a free agent. That’s why they are open to trading him for the right return. There are plenty of teams interested in the right-hander: even though he posted a mediocre 4.58 ERA in 2023, there is a lot of talent in his arm. He had a 2.20 ERA with 227 strikeouts in 2022, and was named a Cy Young finalist. His trade market, according to MLB insiders, appears to be heating up. “Sources: Dylan Cease trade talks have intensified in the last 48 hours, and some people close to the negotiations believe a deal *before* the winter meetings is increasingly possible. Cease’s hometown Braves are among the finalists,” Jon Morosi of MLB Network tweeted. Sources: Dylan Cease trade talks have intensified in the last 48 hours, ...

Latest Achievement Confirms C.J. Stroud Is Having Historic Season

Image
(Photo by Bob Levey/Getty Images)   In hindsight, it’s always easy to mock NFL teams for their decisions. The Carolina Panthers now look foolish for passing on C.J. Stroud and taking Bryce Young instead, but it seemed like the right decision at the time. Stroud now looks like a superstar in the making. As pointed out by NFL insider James Palmer, he just became the second rookie quarterback in NFL history to win AFC Offensive Player of the Month, and he’s also the fifth player to ever earn NFL Offensive Player of the Month in the same month. The NFL named Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud the AFC Offensive Player of the Month and NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month for November. Kevin Durant Explains Why Devin Booker Refused To Sit With Injury

Image
(Photo by Matthew Stockman/Getty Images)   The Phoenix Suns were taken down by the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night and suffered a disappointing 112-105 loss. But that wasn’t the end of their bad news: during the game, Devin Booker tweaked his ankle. Following some time on the bench in the third quarter after twisting his right ankle, Booker re-entered the game. Speaking to Duane Rankin later, Kevin Durant spoke about his teammate’s insistence on coming back into the game and his drive to help the team win. “We probably would’ve told him to sit down and get his ankle right, but he just love the team so much, he love helping us win,” Durant said about Booker. “Hopefully, the next couple of days, get some treatment and his ankle gets better,” Durant added. "We probably would've told him to sit down and get his ankle right, but he just love the team so much, he love helping us win. NFL Analyst Questions MVP Narrative About 2 Star QBs

Image
(Photo by Al Messerschmidt/Getty Images)   The Dallas Cowboys have fared better than expected this season, and most of that has had to do with Dak Prescott’s impressive QB play. Following a modest start to the season, Dak has taken a major leap forward, playing like a top-five QB in today’s game. Nonetheless, Jalen Hurts continues to lead the way as the main MVP candidate, according to most oddsmakers. That’s why NFL analyst Seth Walder wanted to bring up the fact that Prescott has actually fared much better than Hurts this season, which is why he cannot understand why he’s not ahead of him in this race. Walder revealed that Prescott currently has the second-best QBR in the league (75.3), whereas Hurts has a QBR of 63.5 (which is the sixth-best in the league) despite having a better offensive line and better receivers. Dak Prescott has a QBR of 75.3 (2nd-best). Jalen Hurts has a QBR of 63.5 (6th), with a better offensive line and better receivers. What's the case for Hu...

Insider Details Latest Reds Addition In Free Agency

Image
(Photo by Jamie Sabau/Getty Images)   The Cincinnati Reds failed to secure some pitching before August’s trade deadline, and it likely cost them a spot in the postseason. They needed relievers, but mostly, they could have used one or two top starters and brought in none. Now, the 2023-24 offseason has started, and the pressure is on them to add to their pitching staff. The Reds have a marvelous core of position players: Elly De La Cruz, Matt McLain, Spencer Steer, TJ Friedl, Tyler Stephenson, and Jonathan India are some of them. Still, they need more pitching to truly compete. On Wednesday, they completed a pitching signing that has the potential to significantly bolster their bullpen. “The Reds have agreed to a two-year deal with RHP Emilio Pagán, per source. The deal is still pending physical,” MLB insider Mark Feinsand tweeted. The Reds have agreed to a two-year deal with RHP Emilio Pagán, per source. Timberwolves Star Issues A Warning To The Rest Of The NBA

Image
(Photo by David Berding/Getty Images)   The Minnesota Timberwolves made a huge investment when they decided to trade for Rudy Gobert. Needless to say, the initial returns weren’t exactly positive, as he struggled to establish himself next to Karl-Anthony Towns, and that one-two punch in the frontcourt was an odd fit together. But the months have gone by and things have looked much better in their second season together. Gobert is once again one of the frontrunners to take home the Defensive Player of the Year award. That’s why he’s looking forward to letting everybody in the league know that he cannot be challenged one-on-one because of his quick feet, daring other players to just stop attacking him already (Via Sneaker Reporter on Twitter). Analyst Says AFC Division Has A Bright Future

Image
(Photo by Quinn Harris/Getty Images)   Most analysts predicted the Jacksonville Jaguars would just run away with the AFC South division this season, but that hasn’t been the case at all. While the Jaguars have been the best and most consistent team in the division this season, the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans have also fared much better than expected. With that in mind, Jason McCourty and Mike Florio talked about how the AFC South has a bright future and could be a battle to the end for years to come (via Sunday Night Football on NBC). The future is bright in the AFC South. pic.twitter.com/LX2zNVGRzG — Sunday Night Football on NBC (@SNFonNBC) November 29, 2023 The Tennessee Titans haven’t fared well at all this season, but there’s still a chance that Will Levis turns out to be a good quarterback. Luka Doncic Sounds Off On Unsung Aspect Of His Game

Image
(Photo by Justin Ford/Getty Images)   The Dallas Mavericks aren’t known for their defense. That became an even bigger concern when they traded for Kyrie Irving last season, as they would have one of the most porous backcourts in recent NBA history. That was evident when they crumbled in the final stretch of the year, and it was a point of emphasis they wanted to address in the offseason. The Mavs made some nice additions on that end of the floor, and they’re obviously better than last season. That’s why Luka Doncic wants people to start giving him credit for being a better defender, adding that not only himself but the entire team has improved in that regard (via Noah Weber). Luka Doncic on his and the team’s defense: “I think I have been very good defensively, but I know people aren't going to say that. But my team knows that, and the coaches know that. I think we are improving. Not just me, but the team, too.” #MFFL — Noah Weber (@noahweber00) November 29, 2023 Tr...

Panthers Owner Makes His Thoughts Clear About Bryce Young

Image
(Photo by David Jensen/Getty Images)   The Carolina Panthers made a rather bold decision by firing Frank Reich midway through the season. Granted that the veteran coach didn’t do much to help his case, letting a coach go in his first year while he’s also coaching a rookie quarterback is a rather bold decision. Team owner David Tepper isn’t known for his patience. However, he reaffirmed his commitment to his rookie quarterback, stating that he’s still confident in Bryce Young (via Ian Rapoport). Among the most important quotes from David Tepper: “We are totally confident in that pick.” Still all in on Bryce Young. https://t.co/QyvQuGoN22 — Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) November 28, 2023 The Alabama product has been the most disappointing rookie in the league thus far, especially when compared to other QBs from his class, such as C.J. Giants GM Explains Why He Still Believes In Daniel Jones

Image
(Photo by Rich Storry/Getty Images)   After a 2022 campaign that resulted in them making the playoffs for the first time since 2016, the 2023 season hasn’t been as promising for the New York Giants . The Giants and their fans felt like their performance in 2022 was going to continue to be the norm, with head coach Brian Daboll and quarterback Daniel Jones leading the way. Well, New York currently has a 4-8 record this season, and before suffering a significant knee injury, Jones’ development as an NFL quarterback was not headed in the right direction. Despite the signal-caller’s struggles earlier this year, Giants general manager Joe Schoen revealed on Monday that he still has confidence in Jones being the team’s starting quarterback when he returns from his knee injury in 2024 (via Giants Videos on Twitter). Joe Schoen was asked why he still believes in Daniel Jones: "I've seen it. You guys all saw last season. The guy won 10 games. He won a road playoff game for th...

Graphic Highlights The Rise Of Surprise Giants Star

Image
(Photo by Elsa/Getty Images)   The New York Giants couldn’t catch a break this season. Daniel Jones was fresh off signing a major contract — one that drew mockery and skepticism — but he wasn’t able to live up to that task. Then, backup Tyrod Taylor got hurt while subbing in for him, leaving them with undrafted rookie QB Tommy DeVito as their starter. Still, contrary to popular belief, the Jersey native has actually fared quite well in limited action, throwing for 697 passing yards, seven touchdowns, and rushing for another one (via FOX Sports: NFL). and an unlimited number of chicken cutlets @Giants pic.twitter.com/IisMXPMoCh — FOX Sports: NFL (@NFLonFOX) November 27, 2023 As a matter of fact, DeVito already has more games with 2+ passing touchdowns in his career than Kenny Pickett. Of course, it’s not that he’s been spectacular or mistake-free by any means, but he’s fared much better than the incumbent starter. That usually happens when other teams don’t have e...

Giants GM Comments On Plans For 2024 NFL Draft

Image
(Photo by Michael Hickey/Getty Images)   With the New York Giants losing Daniel Jones for more than a year and several questions about his future with the organization, most people believe they’re going to pursue a quarterback in the upcoming edition of the NFL Draft. Considering their record and the fact that they’re likely to pick in the top five, that should be their approach. Notably, Giants GM Joe Schoen didn’t rule out that possibility, stating that the team will take the best player available when they’re on the clock (via Talkin’ Giants). “We’ll take the best player available” Joe Schoen asked about drafting a QB on the 1st round pic.twitter.com/v69bBEqUn4 — Talkin’ Giants (@TalkinGiants) November 27, 2023 This shouldn’t be much of a surprise. Still, some people would’ve expected Schoen to make it loud and clear that they don’t intend to replace Jones and that he’s going to be their quarterback for the future, even if he’s forced to miss the first half of ne...

Jaguars Suffer Injury To Key Offensive Lineman Against Texans

Image
(Photo by David Rosenblum/Icon Sportswire)   The AFC South race is coming down between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans during the 2023 NFL season. The Jaguars have looked much better after a slow start to the season, while the Texans have been the surprise team of the year as C.J. Stroud looks far ahead of schedule. Jacksonville is hoping to take another leap in head coach Doug Pederson’s second year manning the sidelines, and Trevor Lawrence’s third season under center. On paper, the Jaguars have enough talent on both sides of the field to compete with just about anyone in the league though there have been several weeks where they look completely out of their depth. As is the case with every team, health plays a large factor in whether or not they’re able to advance far enough into the postseason. Unfortunately for Jacksonville, they saw starting left tackle Cam Robinson leave the game in their pivotal Week 12 matchup against Houston via Charean Williams of ...

Veteran Pass Rusher Is Set To Make Saints Debut Sunday

Image
(Photo by Julio Aguilar/Getty Images)   The New Orleans Saints spent their bye week stewing over a loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 10 and will be back in action this Sunday to take on the Atlanta Falcons in an important NFC South division game. The Saints have been a bit of a rollercoaster throughout the 2023 NFL season as they’ve yet to put together a complete game on both sides of the football field. Some of that has to do with their injury luck as they’ve missed some key players almost every week this year. For example, Derek Carr was forced out of a game due to a concussion and that put the onus on Jameis Winston to try and lead a comeback. New Orleans continues to endure injuries as they recently placed Michael Thomas on injured reserve as he hurt his knee early in the first quarter against Minnesota. Aside from Thomas, the team also announced they’ve placed star defensive back Marshon Lattimore on injured reserve and brought up defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul ...

Eagles Activate Key WR For Bills Game

Image
(Photo by Mitchell Leff/Getty Images)   The Philadelphia Eagles have proven that there’s no Super Bowl hangover from last season as they’ve compiled a 9-1 record during the first 11 weeks of the 2023 NFL season. The Eagles overcame a slow start offensively to the year and look to finally be firing on all cylinders as they’ve got arguably the most well-rounded roster in the league. Jalen Hurts is back to playing at an MVP level, while the defense remains dominant up front. Philadelphia is coming off a thrilling Week 11 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs and will look to keep that momentum going against a Buffalo Bills team that’s been up and down this season. The wide receiver tandem of A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith has been a tough cover for every team, and it’s impressive to see considering that Hurts doesn’t have many other reliable options in the passing game. However, the Eagles are hoping to give him some help as they’ve activated wideout Quez Watkins ahead of their ...

Dak Prescott Makes Big Personal Announcement

Image
(Photo by Sam Hodde/Getty Images)   The past month has been an outstanding one for the Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott as the team is peaking at the right time during the 2023 NFL season. As is customary every year, the Cowboys played on Thanksgiving Day and absolutely crushed the Washington Commanders to improve their record to 8-3. Dallas has had some bad losses, but it looks like the team is finally rounding into form and looking like the Super Bowl contender most predicted them to be. The win streak has largely been fueled by Prescott who is past a slow start passing the football and is in a great groove with the scheme and his pass catchers. Against the Commanders, Prescott played a near-perfect game as he recorded 331 passing yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions. Dallas fans were thankful to have Prescott as their quarterback on the holiday, but he also revealed some huge news via his personal Instragram account. Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is going to be a...

NFL Legend Compares Young QB To Aaron Rodgers

Image
(Photo by Dustin Satloff/Getty Images)   The Green Bay Packers made a big statement on Thanksgiving. They put an end to a four-game losing streak to the Detroit Lions and gave Dan Campbell’s team a big wake-up call. But more than that, they showed that maybe Jordan Love is, in fact, the guy they want to build their team around. As a matter of fact, Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin stated that he saw a lot of Aaron Rodgers in him. . @michaelirvin88 shares his takeaways from the Packers upset win vs. Lions on Thanksgiving: “When I see Jordan Love, I see some of Aaron Rodgers.” pic.twitter.com/c4ezU9rOIv — UNDISPUTED (@undisputed) November 24, 2023 In the latest edition of “Undisputed,” Irvin claimed that he always looks to what young QBs learn from their mentors, and he saw some of Rodgers’ signature off-angle throws in the game vs. the Lions. Mike McDaniel Says Dolphins Star Is One Of His Favorite Players Of All-Time

Image
(Photo by Stacy Revere/Getty Images)   The Miami Dolphins already had a dominant and explosive offense, but they needed a playmaker on the other side of the field as well. And while he wasn’t on the field to make an impact in-game right away, star CB Jalen Ramsey proved to be that guy even before he was cleared to play. Recently, HC Mike McDaniel admitted that Ramsey was one of his favorite players of all time. But more than that, he lauded him for the positive impact he had by staying so close to the team despite being injured, serving as a leader, and making sure to keep the team motivated despite his absence. “I can’t say enough good things about that guy,” McDaniel said . “When I tell you, never in my career have I seen someone with a months, not weeks, injury, be as involved in a team. Mind you, he had two practices under his belt with this team. To have two practices and have the wherewithal to understand your impact on people and how your injury — I mean our team w...

Patrick Mahomes Gets Top Spot In Recent NFL Players Poll

Image
(Photo by David Eulitt/Getty Images)   The Kansas City Chiefs haven’t quite looked like the same team that won last year’s Super Bowl and that showed in Week 11 when they fell to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Chiefs and Eagles have once again looked like the class of their respective conferences, but this time it was the latter that took home the win. It was a complete reversal of Super Bowl LVII as the two teams put on strong defensive efforts that featured plenty of stalled drives and frustrated position players. Jalen Hurts only managed 150 passing yards and threw a pick, though he did make up for it on the ground with two touchdowns. Meanwhile, Patrick Mahomes didn’t fare much better as he only had 177 passing yards and two touchdowns along with one interception. However, Mahomes still has the respect of his peers as he was voted as the best player in the NFL, via The Athletic and Dov Kleiman. #NFL players voted on the following, via @TheAthletic Best player in the...

Kyle Kuzma Defends Jordan Poole Amid Rough Start To The Season

Image
(Photo by Patrick Smith/Getty Images)   Jordan Poole became a key member of the Golden State Warriors during his four-year stint with the franchise. Despite averaging career-best numbers for the organization in the 2022-23 NBA season, the Warriors decided to trade Poole to the Washington Wizards in exchange for a trade package around Chris Paul earlier this offseason. Considering Poole helped the Warriors win the 2022 NBA Championship and learned from the duo of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, many expected him to flourish as the first option on the Wizards. Poole has played like a shell of himself in the 2023-24 NBA season, but his teammate Kyle Kuzma recently defended him, via ClutchPoints on Twitter. “When you’re coming from being a 3rd and 4th option… And you’re coming into a new situation where you’re more of the focal point, it’s tough sometimes because that’s a lot of responsibility,” Kuzma said. "When you're coming from being a 3rd and 4th option… And you...

Insider Breaks Down Aaron Nola’s Full Contract

Image
(Photo by Elsa/Getty Images)   The Philadelphia Phillies made a major signing over the weekend, securing the return of co-ace Aaron Nola on a seven-year, $172 million contract. It’s a sizable commitment for the 30-year-old pitcher, but it guarantees that the Phillies rotation has some talent over the short and long-term. The deal will pay Nola $24,571,428 every year from 2024 to 2030 and includes some bonuses and perks. “Aaron Nola, Phillies: $172,000,000/7. $24,571,428 – 2024-2030. $50K for All Star, $100K for Cy Young ($50K-2nd; $25K-3rd), $50K for Gold Glove, $50K for LCS/MVP, $100K for WS/MVP. Jerry Jones Shares His Thoughts On CeeDee Lamb’s Injury Status

Image
(Photo by Wesley Hitt/Getty Images)   The Dallas Cowboys need to have their best offensive players on the field every single game. That’s why watching CeeDee Lamb fall with an ankle injury sounded the alarms for Cowboys fans. However, the coach downplayed the severity of his ankle injury, and judging by Jerry Jones’ words, people should pump the brakes on those worries. Per Jon Machota of The Athletic, the controversial team owner gave Lamb a “thumbs up” regarding his chances of suiting up for their divisional clash with the Washington Commanders. 76ers Star Is Matching A Superstar In His 4th NBA Season

(Photo by Lisa Lake/Getty Images for PGD Global)   The Philadelphia 76ers lost James Harden early this season following the disgruntled star’s trade request. After months of drama, Harden was ultimately traded to the Los Angeles Clippers. While many expected the 76ers to struggle at the beginning of the season, the rise of Tyrese Maxey has certainly helped the organization remain one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. Braves Reportedly Linked To Top Free-Agent Pitcher

Image
(Photo by Scott Cunningham/Getty Images)   Everybody in MLB is talking about Aaron Nola and Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Nola is being discussed because the Philadelphia Phillies re-signed him to a mammoth contract on Sunday. Yamamoto, on the other hand, remains probably the top free-agent option available on the market at the moment, and there are a number of teams interested in his services, including the Phillies themselves. Sonny Gray, also available for just money, remains a quality, yet not frequently discussed option for MLB organizations looking for pitchers. The Atlanta Braves , however, know that Gray might even be a better option for 2024 than the two aforementioned pitchers. “The Braves are one of the top suitors for free agent Sonny Gray, sources say. Atlanta had spoken with Aaron Nola’s camp before Nola returned to the Phillies,” MLB insider Jon Morosi tweeted. The Braves are one of the top suitors for free agent Sonny Gray, sources say. Pistons Star Gets Honest On The Team’s Struggles This Season

Image
(Photo by Gregory Shamus/Getty Images)   The Detroit Pistons were blown out by the Toronto Raptors on Sunday 142-113, bringing their current season record to 2-12. Once again, the Pistons are the worst team in the NBA. Instead of denying this and feigning optimism, Pistons star Cade Cunningham was very honest about his team. According to RealGM, via NBACentral, Cunningham said: “We got to be realistic about the situation. It’s hard to just be like, ‘We’re good, we’re good,’ you know what I’m saying? Because we’re bad. We have to address that. We have to address what we’re not good at.
