Image
(Photo by Harry How/Getty Images)   The Dallas Mavericks shook up the NBA world a couple of weeks ago prior to the trade deadline by sending 25-year-old superstar Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis and Max Christie in a trade nobody saw coming and everybody is still trying to make sense of. Fans around the world have an opinion on this move, which includes those within the league itself as the Utah Jazz general manager recently shared his thoughts about the move during his team’s game against the Lakers earlier in the week. During the Jazz broadcast on Wednesday, team general manager Justin Zanik said he didn’t want to speak for the rest of his colleagues around the league, but he thinks they all agree with Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka in seeing the Doncic trade to the Lakers as a “gift.” Utah Jazz GM Justin Zanik discussed the Luka Dončić trade, saying that while he didn't want to speak for his front office colleagues, they agreed with Los Angele...

A recent report revealed that Staley has an interview on Sunday for a job with a different organization. Joe Mazzulla Proposes An Interesting NBA Rule Change

Image
(Photo by Maddie Malhotra/Getty Images)   Boston Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla calls himself a basketball junky. He’s obsessed with the game and constantly looking for ways to innovate. That’s why it’s not much of a surprise to see that he doesn’t want the game to stop. Talking to Zo and Bertrand, the NBA champion coach claimed that he would get rid of halftime if it were up to him (via Legion Hoops): “If it was up to me, I wish we would ban halftime. I can’t stand halftime. I just don’t understand it. I guess I do from a business standpoint, but I hate it. It’s useless,” he said. Of course, the league would likely never agree to do such a thing, given how much money goes to advertising during halftime. Adam Schefter Clears The Air About Matthew Stafford, Giants Trade Rumors

Image
(Photo by Jeff Schear/Getty Images for Cantor Fitzgerald)   The New York Giants enter the offseason as one of the few quarterback-needy teams in the league. The Giants finally cut bait with Daniel Jones in the middle of the 2024 NFL season, and now need to find a replacement either in free agency or the 2025 NFL Draft. New York has the No. 3 overall pick which means they have a decent shot of someone like Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders falling into their laps. However, the Giants have also been linked to Los Angeles Rams star Matthew Stafford. While New York should be aggressive for someone like Stafford, it appears they won’t put up a haul to acquire him via Pat Leonard of NY Daily News Sports. “ Just had @AdamSchefter on Talkin’ Ball with Pat Leonard. He told me “there is no way in hell that the #Giants are giving up the third overall pick for Matthew Stafford” if trade talks ever occur. But it might not even come to that. Schefter said the #Rams ‘ “first priority” is ...

Jets Will Take On Big Cap Hit After Moving On From Aaron Rodgers

Image
(Photo by Luke Hales/Getty Images)   The New York Jets are officially closing the Aaron Rodgers chapter, with their lone Super Bowl trophy remaining without company. The team announced Thursday they’re parting ways with the 41-year-old quarterback ahead of next season. While Rodgers hasn’t revealed his plans about a potential 21st NFL season, the Jets are already charting their course forward under new general manager Darren Mougey and head coach Aaron Glenn. Rodgers, one of the NFL’s elite quarterbacks with four MVP awards and over 500 regular-season touchdown passes, still has a year left on his contract worth $37.5 million, though it’s not guaranteed. According to Ari Meirov, the Jets will take on a hefty $49 million in dead money by releasing Rodgers—a significant financial hit for the organization.
