Packers Are Quietly Dominating NFL’s Defensive Categories
The Green Bay Packers‘ offense is a work in progress, so to speak. Their defense, however, is spectacular.
So far this season, the Packers are quietly dominating several NFL defensive categories.
According to Jacob Morley, the Packers rank second in yards allowed after the catch per reception (4.0). They rank third in yards per play (4.67), rushing yards per play (3.83), and passing yards per play (5.60) allowed.
Green Bay also ranks sixth in QB hits (69) and total yards allowed per game (292.1), and seventh in rushing yards allowed per game (96.8) and points allowed per game (19.6). It ranks ninth in first downs allowed per game (18.5) and 10th in passing yards allowed per game (195.3).
The Packers rank in the top 10 of the NFL this season in the following defensive categories:
Yards per game: 292.1 (6th)
Yards per play: 4.67 (3rd)
Rushing yards per game: 96.8 (7th)
Rushing yards per play: 3.83 (3rd)
Passing yards per game: 195.3 (10th)

The Packers clearly found the right coach to fix their defensive woes when they hired Jeff Hafley as coordinator. Unfortunately, that might also mean they will lose him soon, as he should be one of the most sought-after candidates for a head coaching position this offseason.
In the meantime, he will continue to keep the Packers in a position to win every game. With Micah Parsons anchoring the pass rush and opening things up for everybody around him, this is a team nobody will want to face in the playoffs.
Coming off a Week 11 road win against the New York Giants, the Packers return to Lambeau Field to take on the rival Minnesota Vikings in Week 12.
