The Carolina Panthers defeated the Atlanta Falcons in overtime in Week 11, and wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan made a strong impression during the victory. Afterward, numerous analysts were taking note of his eight-catch, two-touchdown performance.

Analyst Damien Harris raved about McMillan after the rookie’s big breakout game.

“I do want to give some love to Tetairoa McMillan. It was a breakout game for him, but he has been playing like this all season long, like a true WR1. This is a cornerstone piece for the Carolina Panthers moving forward,” Harris said.

Quarterback Bryce Young may get the most headlines, and he deserves acclaim too. He set the franchise single-game passing yards record, despite an injured ankle.

As great as that is, it shouldn’t overshadow McMillan, who had 130 receiving yards on 12 targets. It was the third game of the season when he had double-digit targets and his second game with at least 100 receiving yards.

It was also his second game with multiple touchdowns, yet another impressive accomplishment and reason for the Panthers to be very happy with his first-round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft.

In his first 11 games, McMillan has 54 receptions on 89 targets for 748 yards and four touchdowns. He is hoping to build upon those numbers in Week 12 when the Panthers play the San Francisco 49ers.

If he keeps playing like this over the rest of the season, McMillan could win Offensive Rookie of the Year.
