The Green Bay Packers couldn’t get a stop against the Dallas Cowboys on “Sunday Night Football.”

Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott looked like he did in his prime, making big throw after big throw.

That’s why it’s not a surprise to see that Green Bay is trying to bolster its secondary.

“The Packers have been making calls on Asante Samuel Jr., per Easton Butler …,” PackersRealm wrote on X.

The former Los Angeles Chargers defensive back is unsigned, most likely due to concerns about his injury history.

He’s been solid when he’s been healthy, and he could be a welcome addition.

The Packers’ defense was spectacular in the first three games of the season, so chances are that their most recent performance was an outlier.

However, cornerback Nate Hobbs hasn’t been very good, and he’s been exposed multiple times as their weakest link.

The Packers entered the season with legitimate Super Bowl aspirations, and it feels like they’ve let two easy wins slip through their fingers.

The defense let the Cleveland Browns move the chains to get a game-winning field goal in Week 3, and the Cowboys put up 40 points in Week 4, so it’s clear something has to change.

The Packers are on their bye week, so they have time to assess their roster and take a hard look at the tape.

With Samuel’s skill set, he could give them another talented playmaker, as they can’t afford to struggle for much longer.
