During his two seasons with the New York Knicks, OG Anunoby has provided some great defense for the team.

He can be a clampdown defender, and new head coach Mike Brown has big plans for him.

Speaking to the press, Brown praised Anunoby and said he is more than capable of being first-team All-Defense.

“First-team All Defense. He is more than capable. Really it’s up to him. That’s how good he is on that end of the floor. And I’ve been around those guys; Bruce Bowen, Tim Duncan. I’ve been around a few of them and he’s right there,” Brown said.

It’s very clear that Brown has nothing but deep faith in Anunoby, and he is going to call on him a lot during his first season as head coach.

Last season, Anunoby put up 18.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists.

He started in all 74 games and played for an average of 36.6 minutes per game.

The Knicks were doing so many things right last year, so Brown is coming to the team with just a few minor tweaks.

They added new talent, but they will be relying on their established stars often in the new year.

But Brown wants to inject new confidence and responsibilities into his team.

He obviously views Anunoby as one of the best defenders in the league, and will therefore make sure he acts like it.

Fans can expect to see Anunoby glued to opponents all season long.

Brown wants him to be the sort of defender who makes life really hard for all competitors, and really great for the Knicks.

It’s been years since Anunoby was All-Defense, but he could do it again in 2025-26.
