Jayson Tatum won’t be with his Boston Celtics any time soon, but he’s already planning what his return will be like.

The exact date isn’t known, but Tatum is intent on coming back to his team in front of the loyal, loud hometown fans who love him.

Speaking to ESPN, he talked about what that moment will be like.

“I put a date on the calendar of when I would be 100% ready and able to play. Whenever that date is, it will be a home game in front of the fans at TD Garden. That is something that I have dreamt about and envisioned,” Tatum said.

Tatum is clearly looking forward to the end of his recovery, but he needs to be patient.

An injury like his doesn’t heal overnight, and rushing through the process could do more harm than good.

But it’ll be hard for Tatum to just sit on the sidelines, because he is driven to help the Celtics win.

This upcoming season could be a very challenging one for Boston, which will be shocking considering how well they have done lately.

Obviously, they have been championship contenders, but that might not be the case in 2025-26.

Even if the Celtics fall short of their plans this year, they know that Tatum’s return is coming, even if it takes a while.

They aren’t going to be at 100 percent until he’s back, which only makes the anticipation grow.

Tatum is doing everything in his power to get back on the court, and his head is clearly in the right place.

He will be giving updates as often as possible, and will certainly announce his return date the moment it’s known.
