The Buffalo Bills found a true gem in the 2025 NFL Draft.

However, he has gone virtually unnoticed because he hasn’t been involved as a pass catcher.

That’s why Bills offensive tackle Dion Dawkins wanted to give credit to rookie tight end Jackson Hawes.

“I’ve seen the best blocker of a young guy I’ve ever seen. I’m not sugarcoating that. He is one of the best blockers you will see in this game,” Dawkins said of the fifth-round pick.

Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox get most of the credit among Buffalo tight ends, but Hawes has been instrumental for the Bills’ offense.

He helps keep quarterback Josh Allen protected, opens up lanes for the running game, and blocks downfield for his fellow pass catchers.

Everybody needs playmakers who can put up big numbers, but they also need team-first guys who are willing to put in the effort even if it doesn’t show up on the stat sheet.

The Bills have had one of the best offenses in the league in the first two games.

That’s not a surprise, and it’s the expectation when you have the defending NFL MVP and arguably the best quarterback in the game leading the way.

But even Allen can only do so much, and having a hard-hitting blocker like Hawes will certainly help for many years to come.
