Saints Sign Former Vikings Defender
The New Orleans Saints are adding more experience to their defense.
With training camp just around the corner, they landed one of their targets from earlier in the offseason.
According to a report by Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, the Saints will sign veteran defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard.

Bullard visited the team earlier in the offseason, and he will now be reunited with defensive coordinator Brandon Staley, who was a part of the Chicago Bears’ coaching staff when he was there.
This is yet another one of Brandon Staley’s former players from a previous stop.
Then again, of all the players they’ve signed who had ties to their new defensive coordinator, Bullard might be the most popular.
The Bears took him out of Florida with the No. 72 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
So far, he has played for the Bears, Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks, Atlanta Falcons, and Minnesota Vikings.
He’s a specialist against the run, and standing at 6-foot-3 and 290 pounds, he’ll give the team another big body to move around at the line of scrimmage.
He’s never been known for being a force against the pass, but he’s big and strong enough to stay in front of most offensive linemen.
Bullard is coming off starting 34 regular-season games in the past two years, as well as one playoff game playing under Brian Flores’ tutelage.
Now, he will compete for snaps with Chris Rumph II, who also played for Staley in the past, and rookie Vernon Broughton.
