The New York Knicks scored an important win over the Detroit Pistons on Thursday night, and Karl-Anthony Towns was a huge part of it.

Towns posted 31 points and eight rebounds on the way to a 118-116 victory.

Following the game, Jalen Brunson praised his teammate and how he helped on both ends of the court.

“He played great,” Brunson said, via New York Basketball. “He set the tone offensively for us, and defensively as well. That’s the KAT we know. No surprise to us; we’re just happy when he’s able to do that.”

This has been a hugely successful season for Towns, who was shocked last summer after being traded by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

In 2024-25, he averaged 24.4 points and 12.8 rebounds, transforming the Knicks’ offensive and defensive plans.

He has been consistent, strong, and dominant and has helped his team in multiple ways.

He also gets along incredibly well with his teammates and has already built a strong chemistry with them, including Brunson.

The Knicks now hold a 2-1 lead in the series against the Pistons and have one more game in Detroit before they return to Madison Square Garden.

On Thursday night, Towns led the Knicks with his 31 points, but Brunson was right behind him with 30 of his own.

These two have become one of the most fearsome duos in the league, and they clearly love playing with one another.

Fans are hoping they get plenty more games together in the postseason.

First, they have to face the team at hand and are trying to take down the Pistons before entering the second round.

Towns has played hard all season, and Thursday’s game proves he isn’t changing his approach in the postseason.
