Kendrick Perkins Believes Grizzlies Star Might Leave The Team

The firing of Taylor Jenkins may have been surprising, but many reports say it was a long time coming.

The Memphis Grizzlies had plenty of reasons to be disappointed with their head coach, and they needed a change.

More changes could be coming soon, especially if the Grizzlies fall apart in the playoffs.

Speaking on “Get Up,” via NBACentral, Kendrick Perkins said he thinks Ja Morant could be leaving the Grizzlies.

As noted by the show, the Luka Doncic trade highlights the fact that any NBA player could be traded at any time.

No one is really safe in this league, especially if a team is struggling.

The Grizzlies are the fifth team in the West, which is obviously admirable, but they seem to always have a tough time in the postseason.

If that happens again, you can bet there will be a lot of rumors about what’s next for Morant.

He is averaging 22.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 7.5 assists per game this season, shooting 44.7 percent from the field.

But he also has been experiencing more injuries lately, and his off-court actions have received a lot of negative attention and suspensions over the years.

The Grizzlies want to build upon the young talent they have, but they keep falling short, and it might be time for a change.

They have already said goodbye to their head coach, but is it also time to alter the roster and possibly say goodbye to their biggest name?

This postseason was already high-stakes for the Grizzlies, but after the firing of Jenkins, it seems even more important.
