Details Emerge About Why Jets Hired Aaron Glenn
The New York Jets finally have their new head coach.
They still need to add a new general manager to round out the team, but they took a big step in the right direction.
Aaron Glenn earned his stripes with the great job he did with the Detroit Lions.
Moreover, it seems like he had a little help getting the job.
According to a report by Jordan Schultz (via Harrison Glaser), several former Jets players advocated for him.
Apparently several former #Jets players went to Woody Johnson directly to advocate for Aaron Glenn, per @Schultz_Report
That is just so awesome

They reportedly reached out directly to team owner Woody Johnson to make sure he got the position.
Glenn was a first-round draft pick by the Jets, and he became one of the best defensive players in the league in New York.
As a former player, he has a strong defensive intellect, is relatable, and can engage with the team.
Moreover, he fits the profile of the head coach they need right now.
Even though their defense collapsed once Robert Saleh was fired, the Jets are still a team built off their defense.
They still have the right personnel to have one of the best defensive units in the league.
Of course, it will take a lot for this team to get back on track.
They might not even have a quarterback right now, as most signs point at Aaron Rodgers leaving the team.
And with all the reports about Woody Johnson and how he runs the team, Glenn will most definitely face an uphill challenge to turn this team around.
