Broncos Fired An Assistant Coach On Friday
On Friday, the Denver Broncos decided to part ways with one of their key assistants.
According to DNVR Broncos, the team fired special teams coordinator Ben Kotwica after just two seasons.
After a 10-7 regular season that resulted in Denver’s first playoff appearance since 2015, the team is now trying to capitalize on the opportunity it has in front of them.

The firing of Kotwica could make way for Sean Payton to hire one of his old friends.
The New Orleans Saints fired former head coach Dennis Allen earlier this season, allowing Darren Rizzi to take over as interim head coach.
But seeing as the special teams coordinator went just 3-5 as the team’s head coach and guided them to a fourth-place finish in the NFC South, it could be hard to see the Saints officially name him as the head coach moving forward, especially with all of the candidates that are out there.
So if Rizzi is not brought back at all, which could be very likely, he will be looking for a new job.
Did the Broncos fire Kotwica in hopes of bringing Rizzi back to work with Sean Payton in Denver next season?
If they did, it makes all of the sense in the world.
Rizzi is considered one of the best special teams coaches in the league and could improve that unit out at Mile High.
However, the first domino, which is Rizzi being let go from New Orleans, has to fall.
