Bo Nix Has Honest Admission About Playing For Sean Payton
Sean Payton is one of the most accomplished head coaches in the NFL.
As such, it wasn’t that much of a surprise to see him turn the Denver Broncos around so quickly.
Even with some talented players leaving and a rookie quarterback, the Broncos were still fairly competitive.
Now, looking back on his first campaign in the league, Bo Nix thanked his head coach for being patient with him and not throwing him under the bus (via Zac Stevens).
Bo Nix said it was great to play under Sean Payton, who he called one of the greatest of all time:

Notably, that wasn’t the case with Russell Wilson.
Payton inherited Wilson from the Nathaniel Hackett regime, and he wasn’t so fond of him.
He consistently put pressure on him and ensured the team released him, even if that meant absorbing the largest dead cap hit in NFL history.
Things were always different with Nix.
Payton reportedly handpicked the Oregon product and was enamored with his game in college.
Truth be told, they looked like a match made in heaven almost right out of the gate.
Nix didn’t make the same mistake twice, and Payton put him in a position to succeed almost immediately.
Once again, Nix is showing how important it is to have experience in college, as he looked more NFL-ready than the average first-year quarterback.
While he might not have a ceiling as high as other players from his draft class, he might end up having the best start to their career.
With Payton at the helm, this team should be a contender for years to come.
