The Kansas City Chiefs have only lost two games this season.

Notably, one of those two games took place with the starters getting some rest.

That’s why the 101 Awards have rewarded Chiefs head coach Andy Reid with their Coach of the Year award.

As NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo points out, it’s crazy to think that Reid has only been named the AP Coach of the Year once in his future Hall of Fame career, and that was 22 years ago.

That speaks volumes about the sky-high expectations around him, as the winners of this award usually come from teams that were expected to underperform.

The Chiefs have been the team to beat in the league for years, so everybody expects them to be good.

Even so, it’s still odd to see that they don’t get the recognition they deserve.

Every time they win, the fans talk about the game being close, the referees, or whatnot.

It’s a lot of work to get to the top, but it’s even harder to stay there when everybody’s aiming for your spot.

Reid is the best head coach in the league right now, and if he wins another Super Bowl this season, he could make a strong case for being the greatest head coach in NFL history, even ahead of Bill Belichick or Don Shula.

Of course, he still needs to get past Josh Allen, the Buffalo Bills, and whoever makes it out of the NFC first.
