The Detroit Lions are adding some more help to their defense after their Thanksgiving Day win over the arch-rival Chicago Bears.

According to ESPN senior insider Adam Schefter, the team is signing former Pro Bowl linebacker Kwon Alexander from the Denver Broncos’ practice squad.

Alexander will now join the seventh different team of his career (including practice squads) and his fifth in the last four years.

The 2017 Pro Bowler led the league in solo tackles back in 2016 as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

That 2016 season was the best year of his career as he recorded 145 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss, seven quarterback hits, and the only pick-six of his career.

He also started all 16 games that season.

Despite battling injuries throughout his 10-year career, he has shown that he can be a productive player when called upon.

Still just 30 years of age, he can provide Lions head coach Dan Campbell with another veteran who can step up in the middle of that gritty defense.

With all of the pieces in place, the Lions are set up for a possible Super Bowl run this season.

Aside from losing star edge-rusher Aidan Hutchinson to injury, this team has everything it needs to become champions.

However, they are set to face the rival Green Bay Packers on Thursday night in prime time in a matchup of NFC North heavyweights.

This will be yet another measuring stick game for both teams as they look to prove how elite they really are.
