The New Orleans Pelicans just cannot catch a break.

Their injury list grew again on Tuesday morning, when it was announced by Shams Charania, via Legion Hoops, that Jose Alvarado is expected to miss six weeks because of a hamstring injury.

Alvarado suffered the injury during Monday’s loss to the Brooklyn Nets and now he will begin the rehabilitation process.

The number of Pelicans players out with injuries right now is shocking.

Alvarado joins Zion Williamson, Dejounte Murray, CJ McCollum, Herb Jones, and Jordan Hawkins.

Few teams have experienced the sort of bad luck New Orleans has right now and it’s not sure what they can do to recover from this.

They were already in a tough spot before Alvarado went down and have a 3-8 record.

With so many players out of commission, it’s difficult to imagine how they can rebound in the near future.

Alvarado has been having a great season so far, averaging 10.7 points and 4.5 assists off the bench during his 25.6 minutes per game.

He recently signed a two-year, $9 million contract extension before the start of the season and has become a bright star for the team.

Hopefully, this is the end of the Pelicans’ bad luck with injuries but it’s not clear which player will return first.

They are in such a deep hole with missing players right now so they need some sort of good news as soon as possible.

Is the season lost for the Pelicans or can they salvage things despite all these injuries?
