John Elway has a strong case for being the greatest player in Denver Broncos history.

That’s a lot to say, considering the myriad of stars that have played for the franchise in the past.

Even so, after his departure from the organization, he has had little, if any, say within the franchise.

That’s why, as surprising as it may sound, he hasn’t even met Bo Nix yet.

Talking to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, the legendary quarterback admitted that he hadn’t met the Broncos’ star rookie.

Even so, he said that he was looking forward to doing it.

Elway praised Nix, stating that his mobility gives him a big edge.

He even volunteered to offer him his advice or insight if he so decides.

Nix is coming off one of the best performances of his young career, becoming the first rookie in NFL history to throw for 300+ yards and four touchdowns while completing over 80% of his passes.

The rookie out of Oregon has been quite solid right out of the gate, leading his team to a 6-5 record and right into the playoff race.

Sean Payton doesn’t run the most modern or innovative offense, but Nix seems tailor-made to run his system.

The Broncos aren’t a Super Bowl contender yet, but they’re clearly at a better place now than they were during the past couple of years, and a lot of that has to do with their new signal-caller.
