Bill Belichick Names The Biggest Issue With Bears

At one point during the first half of the 2024 NFL season, the Chicago Bears looked like they had become a legitimate force to be reckoned with in the NFC, as rookie quarterback Caleb Williams seemed to be figuring things out while the team around him was starting to come together.

The Bears were 4-2 and everything appeared to be pointing in the right direction, with a spot in the NFL playoffs looking like a real possibility for Matt Eberflus’ squad.

Unfortunately for Chicago, things have taken a turn for the worst, with the team now having lost three straight games following their loss to the lowly New England Patriots in Week 10 at Soldier Field in front of the Bears faithful.

One of the glaring issues for the Bears has been their lack of protection up front, as Williams was sacked nine times in the loss to the Patriots on Sunday, which isn’t ideal for a player the team wants to be their new face of the franchise.

On Monday, former Patriots head coach Bill Belichick gave his two cents on the situation in Chicago and pointed out that the team’s biggest problem is the offensive line via The Pat McAfee Show.

“The Bears have all the weapons in the world, but they have issues on the offensive line,” Belichick said. “Detroit started building their team with the offensive line.”

The primary concern moving forward is the health of Williams because if he’s getting sacked nine times, it is only a matter of time before one of those sacks results in a serious injury for the rookie quarterback.

It’ll be interesting to see if the Bears can right the ship in the second half of the season and potentially salvage their season while figuring out a way to give Williams the protection he needs to be successful on the football field.
