Giants Will Honor Tom Coughlin With Bobblehead At Sunday’s Game

The New York Giants have won two out of three games and are having a surprisingly nice start to the season thanks to a new energy in the building and a new philosophy on offense that has quarterback Daniel Jones looking about as good as he ever has.

This season doesn’t quite have fans reminiscing about the Super Bowl runs of 2007 and 2011, but it has been a nice breath of fresh air so far and the team will add to the festivities with a fun giveaway at Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter shared that the first 25,000 fans at Sunday’s game will receive the Tom Coughlin bobblehead doll released in celebration of the team’s 100th anniversary, and the team will honor those two Super Bowls it won under Coughlin at halftime of the Bengals game.

The 78-year-old Coughlin is currently serving as a consultant to the Las Vegas Raiders and was the Giants head coach from 2004-2015, obviously highlighted by the two championships.

New York hasn’t had much success since Coughlin left, though Brian Daboll did lead the team to a playoff victory a few years ago and is working to turn things around once again following the departure of franchise cornerstone Saquon Barkley.

Coughlin’s bobblehead might not look a whole lot like him, but the real missed opportunity is giving the bobblehead the classic Coughlin beat red face he often had during cold weather games.

That being said, it’s a great gesture and should be a fun ceremony on Sunday.
