The New Orleans Pelicans keep waiting for Zion Williamson.

We’ve seen how impactful he can be when he’s on the court, but other than last season, he hasn’t been on the court very often.

That’s why, even though he’s clearly very good and very talented, some fans have already lost faith in him.

Moreover, former NBA star Rasheed Wallace doesn’t agree with the notion of him being a generational talent.

Talking on his podcast, he stated that as good a kid as he is and as good a player as he is, he’s only a generational dunker, not a game-changer.

That might be a bit of a controversial assessment, as the Pelicans are a completely different team when he’s at his best.

Nonetheless, you have to be available to be a generational player, and Williamson’s impact in the league has been minimal despite being a No. 1 pick and one of the most hyped prospects the game has ever seen.

Wallace also believes that Williamson needs to take care of his body not only because of basketball but also for his life, as he’s struggled with weight issues for years now and that could take a big toll on his health even after his playing days are over.

Some have blamed Williamson for his weight issues, questioning his work ethic and eating habits.

Hopefully, he’ll one day be able to shake off his injury woes, as he’s very fun to watch and, unlike Wallace, most people do think of him as a generational talent.
