The New York Knicks have been one of the most exciting teams in the Eastern Conference this season.

They are currently the fourth seed in their conference and have a chance of going far in the playoffs if they continue to perform well.

Their last three games have been a mixed bag but the Knicks just earned a notable achievement.

According to Basketball Reference, the Knicks are the first team since 2012 to go three straight games without allowing 80+ points.

It all started last Friday when they beat the Orlando Magic, 98-74.

Following that, they lost to the Philadelphia 76ers, 79-73.

They then took the Sixers on again on Tuesday night and beat them, 106-79.

Keeping an opponent under 80 points for all four quarters is quite an impressive accomplishment, especially because they did it three times in a row.

It’s also interesting that during their first game against Philadelphia, both teams were limited to under 80.

The Knicks are mostly known as an offensive team but this record proves that they can provide great defense too.

During Tuesday’s game, it was Josh Hart who did the most with defense.

He scored 20 points and had a massive 19 rebounds.

18 of those 19 rebounds were defensive, which certainly helped the Knicks keep the Sixers’ score under 80 points.

The Knicks are about to go on a four-game road trip that could be quite challenging.

They first face the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night, followed by the Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors, and Denver Nuggets.

The team looks ready to enter the postseason and they are hoping that they go further than the second round like they did last year.

If they can keep their opponents under 80 points for each game, the Knicks have a great shot at making a big impression in the playoffs.
