Analyst Says 1 QB Prospect Is A ‘Shanahan Quarterback’

The NFL Draft is set to take place at the end of April.

This class looks full of future stars, especially at quarterback.

We could see as many as five quarterbacks selected in the first round.

One quarterback that many people are having a hard time analyzing is Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy.

He won the National Championship at Michigan and has seemingly played himself into the first round.

While he lacks the upside of other quarterbacks in this draft, he is seen by many as a franchise quarterback.

According to Mina Kimes, McCarthy is the perfect “Shanahan quarterback.”

Even though McCarthy will likely be gone before Shanahan and the 49ers pick, he has a strong skill set.

Kimes mentioned, that he “throws over the middle of the field, plays on time, and manages the pocket well.”

Some teams may want him to sit for a year while others may be willing to start him from day one.

Two teams that are rumored to be interested in McCarthy are the New England Patriots and Minnesota Vikings.

Both need a quarterback and McCarthy will likely be the best available when they are on the clock.

There is still a lot of time for teams to decide which players they like best. and you can bet we will hear McCarthy’s name called at some point in the first round.
