The Warriors Reportedly Have A Strong Confidence In Re-Signing Draymond Green

After coming up short in their title defense this past season, losing to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the NBA playoffs, the Golden State Warriors headed into a summer filled with uncertainty.

First, the team lost their longtime general manager Bob Myers, who chose to step down from his post and hand the job over to Michael Dunleavy Jr.

Then the team made a move that shocked the NBA, with the Warriors trading Jordan Poole to the Washington Wizards in exchange for veteran point guard Chris Paul.

With Paul now in the Bay Area, the attention turns to free agent Draymond Green, who seemingly wants to return to Golden State, but nothing has been set in stone.

According to Marc Stein via Bleacher Report, there’s “strong confidence” that Green isn’t going anywhere and a new deal will get done to keep him in San Francisco.

With Poole being perceived as a player that didn’t seem to fit with the team last season, the team has now moved on from him, which adds a proven point guard into the mix and removes his lucrative contract from the books.

This may have been a brilliant move by Dunleavy and company, as he frees up money for the future and will help them retain Green while also leaving their options open to bring in more talent.

However, Green still has yet to sign on the dotted line, and the Sacramento Kings have been making moves that indicate they could be in the running to sign him, which might be intriguing to the veteran forward.

Only time will tell how things work out for the Warriors and whether Stephen Curry and company can put together another squad to make another title run.
