MLB teams have become famous for performing celebrations in the dugout after hitting a home run.
We have seen home run hats, swords, short trips in a cart, the silent treatment… everything.
The Atlanta Braves have been using a large hat as a way to share the joy when someone on the team goes yard.
It looks fun, and all fun things should be celebrated in MLB.
The league, however, is asking the Braves to stop.
One of its partners, in this case the hat manufacturer, asked them to tell the Braves not to use the big hat.

That’s certainly a bummer.
It’s understandable to some degree, of course, but there should be ways to work around the issue to keep players happy and doing the celebration they love.
For example, why not have New Era manufacture a couple of big hats with the Braves logo to use after a home run?
It should be a fun solution, because nothing ruins the mood like banning a spontaneous act of joy.
In any case, the Braves will probably have to move on without the big hat celebration and come up with something else.
We are sure that they will be fine in any case.
As of Friday afternoon, they have a 17-9 record and a two-game cushion over the New York Mets in the NL East.
They are expected, once again, to be World Series contenders.
